Fortin Consulting Inc. was incorporated in 1996. It is registered with the state of Minnesota as a small, woman-owned Business. As of January 1, 2022, Fortin Consulting is proud to announce our acquisition by Bolton & Menk, Inc.

Our mission is to provide project design and coordination that unites citizens, environmental organizations and industry in the common goal of protecting freshwater resources. We have worked closely with those who perform outdoor work in the following industries: turfgrass, snow and ice control, shoreline restoration, pesticide application and erosion control. Fortin Consulting has developed multiple training programs which have provided thousands of people with the information to perform their work while protecting Minnesota’s water bodies.

Our Clients and Experience

Our clients are diverse. We have worked on federal, state, county, city, watershed, non-profit, school, private company, and homeowner projects. We have been hired by many state organizations, including the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), University of Minnesota Extension (UME), Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies, and the University of Minnesota Water Resources Department. We are also an active partner with many watershed organizations in Minnesota and other midwestern states, providing technical expertise and training.

We are experienced instructors and public speakers. We have emceed large events; we have given presentations at local, national and international events. Our staff have been invited to speak at technical conferences and have taught field seminars. We are frequently invited to present environmental information in school classrooms. Maintenance professionals are our primary audience, although we also teach environmental professionals, school students, adult volunteers and citizens.
